Two chapters in Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 Greek community have received national recognition.
The Upsilon Chapter of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity has been awarded the Roland Maxwell Outstanding Chapter Award. The honor is bestowed on one chapter from more than 100 Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity chapters across the country. The award recognizes Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 chapter as the most outstanding in the country. The chapter was celebrated during the fraternity鈥檚 national convention in July for its success in learning, leading and serving.
The honor marked the sixth time the Upsilon Chapter was recognized with this national award.
At the Phi Kappa Tau national convention, Melinda Dilley, assistant director of student involvement, was recognized with the 鈥淥utstanding Greek Advisor鈥 Award. Dilley has been at Nebraska Wesleyan for a year and advises the university鈥檚 six sororities and fraternities.
Delta Zeta Sorority was recognized as an honoree at the Starkey Hearing Foundation鈥檚 15th Annual 鈥淪o the World May Hear鈥 Awards Gala, held July 26 in Saint Paul, Minn. The gala celebrated the spirit of giving by honoring individuals and organizations who dedicate their time and service to helping others.
In 2006, Delta Zeta鈥檚 national convention voted to make Starkey Hearing Foundation a philanthropic partner with Delta Zeta for the cause of speech and hearing. Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 Delta Zeta chapter hosts several fundraisers each year to support the cause.
