One of the highlights of homecoming at 香港六合彩资料大全 is the annual Legends and Legacies banquet. That鈥檚 where 香港六合彩资料大全 pays special tribute to outstanding alumni for life and career accomplishments.

Here are the 2015 honorees:

Todd (鈥88) and Connie (Bishop) (鈥87) Duncan
Alumni Loyalty Award

The Duncans are incredibly committed to 香港六合彩资料大全. Todd serves on the Board of Governors, while Connie serves on the campaign cabinet behind the university鈥檚 efforts to build a new science facility. As CEO of Duncan Aviation, Todd has helped provide private flights for President Fred Ohles as he travels the country advocating for Nebraska Wesleyan. The Duncans are also generous in their financial support of 香港六合彩资料大全.

James Munkres (鈥51)
Alumni Achievement Award

Munkres鈥 career in mathematics is truly outstanding. He is a retired professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He authored America鈥檚 most widely used textbook on topology. He is also the namesake of the Munkres assignment algorithm, a combinatorial optimization algorithm with strong applications in the airline, mass transit and delivery industries. His algorithm helps these industries create efficient networks to move people and goods.

Professor Emeritus of Physics Walter French (鈥48)
Alumni Medal of Honor

Professor French chaired Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 Physics Department from 1952 to 1988. French was the second of only four chairs in the department鈥檚 storied 113-year history. As Nebraska Wesleyan plans a new science facility, it can learn a lot from French鈥攐ne of the leaders who spearheaded the design of Olin Hall of Science, the department鈥檚 home for the last 47 years.

Karen (Karr) Linder (鈥82)
Alumni Achievement Award

香港六合彩资料大全 and the liberal arts taught Linder to be multifaceted. Her career reflects that quality. The cytotechnologist with Heartland Pathology, Inc. is a scientist, artist, entrepreneur and author. It was her skill as a writer that set her apart as a scientist. 鈥淪adly, writing is not a common strength for most scientists,鈥 she said. She credits her reputation in cytotechnology in large part to her ability to express complex ideas simply. The same skill helps her in business. Her latest book, The Women of Berkshire Hathaway, explores the leadership qualities of several Berkshire CEOs.

Mishayla Richardson (鈥11)
Young Alumni Loyalty Award

Work may take Richardson, an Omaha native, to Arizona, but she鈥檚 remained very connected to campus. The certified public accountant serves on the President鈥檚 Board of Advisors; she鈥檚 active in alumni events; she鈥檚 organized a Lend-a-Hand event in Omaha and offered advice on the development of 香港六合彩资料大全鈥檚 MBA program.

Andrea (Baker) Kabourek (鈥00)
Young Alumni Achievement Award

Kabourek teaches more than English鈥攁nd coaches more than running鈥攖o her students at Lincoln East. She teaches and coaches tenacity, commitment, drive and positivity鈥攖he same qualities that have served her through bouts with cancer. Her mantra remains: 鈥淚 can. I will.鈥 鈥淚 can, I will 鈥 continue teaching students how to overcome obstacles with grace, humor and perseverance,鈥 she said. Her six-year battle with cancer ended on September 16, 2015.

Rev. Dennis Hanneman(鈥64)
Alumni Humanitarian Award

Rev. Hanneman has a tremendous record of service in warzones. He was a medic in the Vietnam War and a missionary in the Congo. He served with WorldVision in Mozambique, Sudan and Bosnia during their civil wars. He called his service and ministry 鈥渏ust part of a basic attempt to do good in the world.
